I use the computer for email, accounting, and shopping. These applications are such time savers and make things much easier. I also have a Blog and I use a few social networking websites. Social networking websites and Blogs can be a
wonderful tools as well. They are a great way to connect and encourage others. You can
easily share your life with old and new friends with just a few clicks. The technology is amazing,
But lately, I have noticed a few things that concern me. It seems that many young adults just don't seem to understand that what they post on social networking websites are out there for EVERYONE to see. (Do not be deceived in thinking that just your "friends" can see what you post.) In fact, you are creating a snapshot of your life for the whole world to see!
As I look at some of the things you are posting, I can not help but wonder, is this really what you are all about? Do you really watch the movies you are talking about and post quotes from? Are the books you read helping you to "set your mind on things above"? Are you girls really spending a lot of your time on Pinterest dreaming about clothes, hair, makeup, weddings, and dream houses? Are you guys really spending your time watching science fiction and superhero movies and discussing on Facebook the attributes of something that is not real ? Are you creating an appetite for "things" that you really should not desire? How does this really honor the Lord?
This is an incredible time in your life. Use these years to serve the Lord! Their is so much you can do! The technology of the day can help you do this as you "post" about what you are doing and how God is working in your life!
Please understand that you are creating an image of yourself. Does this image honor God or is it an image that you may regret in the future?
“Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the
things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your
mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you
have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who
is our life, is revealed, then you also will
be revealed with Him in glory.”
Colossians 3:1-4
be revealed with Him in glory.”

Thank you Mrs. Stevens for these words of wisdom! What you said is so true today, sadly. One of the things the Lord really impressed on my heart for this year, was to live every day as if it will be my last, and to make the most of every moment for Christ! There's so much to do, opportunities abound - and yet so little time.
Very good thoughts!
