A Bump in the Night!

Last Saturday at 4:30 am I awoke to the sound of our HUGE oak tree hitting the ground. The whole house shook! So we jumped out of bed and headed outside in the dark to see what happened. By the light of day this is what we saw. Thankfully it missed the house, but unfortunately it completely destroyed the boys Youth Fair Citrus Tree Contest orange trees. The other casualty was our really cool rope swing that was hanging from one of the limbs. The mess is almost cleaned up now, and a load of oak will be taken to Peebles BBQ which will open next weekend. So if you eat any Peebles BBQ in the near future, it might just be smoked on our oak. :o)

Praise the Lord all is well with you and your house!
So sorry about the boys' trees.

Oh, my starz! Thank God you were not hurt! Was the cool swing the one Rob was enjoying in a previous post??

We came back from our recent trip to a collapsed ceiling in the room where the recording equipment is -- still not sure how that happened. Probably a leak we didn't know about. More insurance hassles.

Peebles is getting a good old pile of smokin' wood!

YIKES!!!

Thank the Lord it landed where it did.

At least it didn't land on the bathroom that took so much time and effort!

Wow, Kelly! That's a huge tree! I am so glad it didn't fall on the house as well.

A few months ago, we had a huge tree fall and it DID hit the girls room! Markie was on the top bunk and boy did she move fast! It caused a little damage, and like you we were thankful no one was hurt.

Too bad about the swing, but at least the cool tree house is still good :)

Love,
Beth
